To Whom It May Concern, It gives me great pleasure to comment of the abilities and professionalism of Scott Sutton. I met Scott in the summer of 1992 when we both found ourselves situated in the unenviable position of moving heavy furniture for the University of South Carolina's Archaeological Field School. I was quickly impressed with Scott's hard work and good disposition. Although I was not directly involved with the field school program, I know that Scott distinguished himself as one of the few participants able to not only survive, but excel, under sometimes oppressive conditions. I was pleased to have Scott enroll in a graduate seminar in North American prehistory I offered later that year. I subsequently hired Scott to conduct research on prehistoric site distributions for a grant project of mine. I can honestly say that Scott is among the most hard-working and honest people I have had the pleasure to know. The quality of his work is exemplary, and I am now reaping benefits from the accuracy and thoroughness of his data-collecting skills. Moreover, Scott is an exceedingly personable character, easy to get along with, people-oriented, and quick to take initiative. I have no doubt that he will succeed in whatever he chooses to do, and I highly recommend Scott with no reservations for any job requiring thought, personality, and responsibility. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly for further information or clarification. Thank you for the opportunity to comment of Scott's fine qualities. Sincerely, Dr. Kenneth E. Sassaman |
