To Whom It May Concern: Please allow me the pleasure of recommending to you Mr. Scott G. Sutton for future employment. As head of contracts for archaeological surveys for Chicora Foundation, Inc., under the overview of the National Park Service, I first hired Scott in April of 1996. This was shortly before his graduation from the University of South Carolina anthropology masters program. Although he began work as an archaeological technician, Scott was willing to take on more varied duties beyond his job description. I discovered that when Scott was given a task and explained what was required that it would be completed in a timely and efficient manner. By June of 1996, I promoted Scott to crew chief with the intention of eventually promoting him to assistant field director. By September, he was running a Phase I military base survey for Chicora in Hinesville, Georgia. Once completed, he again took on the responsibility to field a crew for a second project in Georgia. I have always found Scott to be a very honest, straight forward, and competent individual. His professionalism, in and out of the field, has been an asset to Chicora and our ability to conduct business in an efficient manner. Scott rarely complained about the workload he was given, which at times was substantial, and always applied himself fully to the task at hand. If ever asked, I would have no hesitancy in re-hiring Scott at any time. Sincerely Yours, William B. Barr |
