Desktop Publishing

The following projects involved desktop publishing:

  • Tripwire, Inc — Wrote user guides, evaluation guides, and trial guides for Tripwire Enterprise, a network change auditing application.

  • Intel Corporation — Wrote user guide for PeopleSoft8-based, customer-relationship application. Documented all workflows and procedures related to customer support cases.

  • Xerox Corporation — Completed two manuals documenting warehouse and repair center procedures. Also wrote two user manuals for inventory management systems.

  • VeriSign, Inc. — Completed two manuals (Introduction to VeriSign OnSite and OnSite Installation and Configuration) for VeriSign's OnSite product, a public key infrastructure (PKI) platform.

  • Click to Secure — Wrote user's manual (Hailstorm User's Guide) for Hailstorm 2.0, a vulnerability testing tool for network hardware and applications.

  • Intel Corporation — Contributed to the definitive manual on Virtual Interface Architecture (VIA), an industry standard interface for high performance cluster communications.

  • IBM NUMA-Q — Completed 20 documents outlining procedures for various departments, including network operations, telecommunications, and system administration.

  • Celtic Legacy Foundation — Co-authored a Phase I archaeological report on Llygadwy, a Roman-Celtic site in southern Wales.

  • PacifiCorp — Responsible for a monthly insert included in PacifiCorp's SAP implementation project newsletter.

  • ADP Dealer Services — Produced over 280 instructional documents and sample reports for an automotive-dealership, finance-management product.

  • Emery Worldwide — Co-wrote user manual for a warehouse inventory and sales system.

  • Lingo Systems — Formatted manuals in foreign languages for international distribution.

  • Triquint Semiconductor — Formatted and edited several product catalogs.

  • FirstPoint Convergent Systems / Enron — Formatted and edited project proposals for the maintenance and management of urban electrical power systems.

  • South Carolina Department of Transportation — Completed a report of archaeological investigations and excavation at the Pierce Site (Charleston, South Carolina). Also contributed to several other data-recovery reports.

The following projects involved the production of a Web site:

  • TechnicalWriter-4-Hire.com — Created this Web site, a shameless, self-aggrandizing attempt at self-promotion.

  • W.R. Greenwood Company — Created a commercial Web site for Blo-poke, 'the essential fireplace tool' (www.blopoke.com)

  • Intel Corporation — Designed and maintained external Web sites for Intel's Mobile Data Initiative (www.pcsdata.com and www.gsmdata.com; no longer maintained).

  • Celtic Legacy Foundation — Created a Web site documenting an archaeological investigation of a Roman-Celtic site in southern Wales (www.geocities.com/landz_end; no longer maintained).

  • PacifiCorp — Designed and maintained the project Web site for Pacificorp's SAP implementation.

  • ADP Dealer Services — Created an instructional Web cluster outlining procedures for document production.

Online Help

The following projects involved the creation of an online Help system:

  • Intel Corporation — Created online help systems for four e-Support applications, including a Web site content management application and a product management database. Also created several 'demo movies' for inclusion in online help systems.

  • Xerox Corporation — Created a printer part identification system with RoboHTML. Final product also included an online Help system for users, as well as an online Help system documenting system maintenance procedures for company personnel.

  • Click to Secure — Created online Help for Hailstorm 2.0, a vulnerability testing tool for network hardware and applications.

  • Network ICE / Internet Security Systems — Completed an online help system for a network security management console.
